Dr. Woeller, my son's DAN! physician, was interviewed on The Autism Tomorrow internet TV site yesterday. Clink HERE to listen to what Dr. Woeller has to say about Respen-A. We were among the first of his clients to try Respen-A and it has been one of the most transformational therapies for my son. It is available by prescription, easy to apply and so worthwhile, in my opinion. I have blogged our experiences with Respen-A since we started.
And, if you want some additional info on some of the frequently asked questions about Respen-A, you can click HERE to watch Dr. Woeller answer, and address, some of these issues. Hopefully if you are curious about Respen-A and whether it may be a good therapy to try for your child, this will help.

Hi Terri!
A little off topic but are you & your family still using the allimax liquid? Anything you could share would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

Hi Peg! Yes, we do still use it. Because of my son's allergy to garlic, it is not one I use all the time. But, it is one I pull out when fighting viruses or as a part of the yeast control pack from New Beginnings. His behavior gets a little wonky with prolonged use because of that garlic allergy. But, I have also had friends use it IN their kids ears as well as internally when fighting an ear infection. I also take it when I am starting to feel like I am fighting a bug too.
Terri,
Respen-A is amazing stuff! My son has been on it for a few months. I have seen amazing results with it! How long have you guys been using it?
Crystal
Hi Crystal! We were among Dr. Woeller's first patients to start it back in December 2009. I absolutely love it! It is nearing a year so we shall see what happens if/when we decide to try a break from it.
Terri, I will be following to see how things go!
I'm still trying to figure out a good cal/mag combo for Graison. We have been using NOW Foods Calcium Carbonate & NOW Foods Magnesium Citrate. However, the Mag Citrate gives him loose stools at only 300mg. What Cal/Mag combo are you using? Also, how does that calculate into your vit/min supplement? We are currently using VitaSpectrum, which has some cal/mag in it.
Thanks!
Crystal
Crystal, we had an issue with loose stools as well. I tried ALL forms, I swear it felt like it. We did liquid ionic calcium from New Beginnings along with their powdered mag cit. I did chewable calcium/mag from New Beginnings, I did calcium carbonate (NOW! brand) and calcium citrate (powdered from New Beginnings). No matter how low we got mag, he still had diarrhea! Then I started giving about 700 mg of calcium via 2 cal/mag chewables and said "forget it!!". That fixed the situation. But, recently we reviewed our supplement regime and I listened again to the conference calls on the Respen-A site. Then I realized we were not waiting long enough to put the patch on. We used to put the patch on as soon as he woke up. Now, I give calcium (2,000 mg powdered calcium carbonate from NOW! and 400 mg magnesium citrate powder from New Beginnings) 30 minutes to an hour before putting on the patch. It is working beautifully! No more loose stools, at all, and it has been almost 2 months since we made that change. I hope that helps!
Thanks, Terri! I hate to hear that anyone else has had to go thru what we're going thru. It's so hard to see these little guys have additional issues to deal with! We are using calcium carbonate from NOW, and magnesium citrate, also from NOW. I have been waiting an hour to put his disc on, but still can't seem to get his magnesium over about 150mg without having dirreah. I wonder if there is another source of magnesium that would work better for him, magnesium oxide...? I'll have to research. Thanks for sharing! Crystal
